On February 5 2020, journalist Moussa Assi appeared before the single criminal judiciary in Beirut in two complaints: the first was submitted against him by the “Supreme Islamic Shiite Council”, and the second by Randa Berri, the wife of Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, On charges “the crime of libel and slander.” He posted on his Facebook page, about the "Islamic Council" corruption . They filed two complaints against him in March 2019 in the Cyber Crime Bureau, and when he refused to delete the posts and refer him to court.
