Case summary
on January 9, the Lebanese Army Intelligence arrested the citizen Saeed Abdullah from his home in the Aitat area, against the background of his posts on social media. After that, they blindfolded him and made him kneel on his feet, then forced him to open his phone with a fingerprint, where they searched his phone without his consent and deleted some of the posts from his Facebook account. He was interrogated the next day at the Office of Combating Information Crimes, with a lawyer, under the new amendment to Article 47 of the Criminal Procedure Code, which many had fought to implement.
After interrogating him at the Cyber Crime Office and after removing the post from his page and signing a pledge, Appeal Public Prosecutor Judge Ghada Aoun decided to detain him for 24 hours based on a given indication before the start of the investigation. After 24 hours had passed, Judge Aoun decided to seal the record and keep Saeed under arrest.
on 19 January, he released
