On his Facebook page, Ali posted a picture of him kissing a statue of the Virgin in her mouth, and through the comments on the picture he said, "She annihilated a virgin," which led to a wave of anger and disapproval at the time among the citizens. Al-Itawi published the same picture on his page for the first time in 2011, but he returned and put it "cover photo". And as a result of that, the President of the Republic, Michel Suleiman at the time, asked that what the young man had done as informing, demanding that the necessary measures be taken against him.
