A few days later Asmar resigned. Beirut investigative judge Georges Rizk issued a decision of release after paying a bail amount of 500,000 Lebanese pounds
On March 3, 2020, The first investigating judge in Beirut, George Rizk, issued his presumptive decision to prevent the trial of the former head of the General Labor Confederation, Bechara Al-Asmar, for the crime of inciting sectarian strife and denigrating religious rituals.
